Borussia Dortmund remain confident that Mario Goetze will be fit to play in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich later this month after it was announced Friday that the playmaker will resume running training next week.
The 20-year-old German international, who will play for newly-crowned Bundesliga champions Bayern next season, has not played since suffering a thigh strain in the Champions League semifinal victory over Real Madrid.
"He can do running for a week and then take part in team training for another week. That is perfect," said coach Juergen Klopp. The Champions League final takes place on May 25 at London's Wembley stadium.
Meanwhile, midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been declared fit for Saturday's visit to VfL Wolfsburg after recovering from a thigh strain.
