13-year-old Girl Defends 22-year-old Lover Charged For Molesting Her, Says She Consented

Peter Victor has been arrested by the police and charged before a magistrate’s in Lagos for allegedly molesting a 13-year-old girl.
The 22-year-old man now faces a charge of r*pe before the Magistrate, Mrs M B Folami.
However, the victim stunned the police and the court when she said she was not defiled by Victor as claimed by the police, but rather she allowed Victor to sleep with her thrice because she loved him and because he had been assisting her family.
Victor, she said has been buying gifts for her and members of her family, even her parents. She also revealed that when Victor was arrested and she was brought to the station, she told the police that she was not defiled, but she was asked to shut up because she was a minor.
Reports say the girl’s father became aware of the relationship when her daughter returned late in their last outing, and the girl told her father that she went out with the man as she was questioned.

On further inquiry, she was said to have admitted to her father that Victor had been sleeping with her.
The angry father was said to have gone to the police to report that Victor defiled his daughter. Victor was therefore arrested and charged to court on a one-count charge of having unlawful carnal knowledge of the girl.
Victor admitted to having s*x with the girl, but insisted he did not r*pe her as claimed by the police, adding that she is her girlfriend and that he has been assisting her and her family.
The police however insisted that it was a case of r*pe and therefore charged him under section 137 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State of Nigeria.
Victor pleaded not guilty. He was denied bail and ordered to be remanded in Kirikiri prison pending further hearing.
